Annual Halloween after-dark flashlight tour of Laurel Hill East cemetery, with guides sharing the lives of its 19th- and 20th-century residents, followed by drinks around fire pits.
Laurel Hill is bringing back its annual Soul Crawl on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31, from 7 PM to 10 PM. It's an after-dark flashlight tour of Laurel Hill East, and the whole thing benefits the Friends of Laurel Hill, the cemetery's nonprofit.
Knowledgeable guides lead groups down the winding pathways of the grounds, where you'll hear the storied lives of people who lived during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. There's a particular focus on the restless spirits of the place, so it leans into the Halloween spirit without being a cheap jump-scare. The walk takes about 90 minutes, and the night wraps up with drinks around roaring fire pits.
If you have mobility concerns, you can request a guided route that stays on paved paths. Parking is limited, so keep that in mind when you're planning your night. Advance tickets are strongly encouraged, and online sales close two and a half hours before the tour begins, so don't wait until the last minute.
