Free Friday night of live DJ music by Skeme Richards and the resident Disco Diner, with a pop-up menu from Percy, at The Sound Lounge.
Skeme Richards takes over The Sound Lounge this Friday, October 23, for the October edition of Snacks & Sounds. It's a night that pairs live music with a pop-up menu from a local restaurant, and this time the kitchen is run by Disco Diner. Richards is one of Philadelphia's most prolific lifelong selectors, and he'll be playing from his own deep personal record collection. The set starts at 7 PM and runs through 8 PM, but the music doesn't stop thereβit carries right into Disco Diner, the venue's resident Friday night, with the party going until 11 PM. The series describes it as a chance to not just listen to, but experience the story of deep dance floor heartache while munching on snacks.
The Sound Lounge itself is worth a bit of context. It opened in May 2025 inside Percy, the all-day diner that shares the space, and was built by owners Seth Kligerman, Kyle Horne, and Will Landicho as a third space around a shared love of music, hospitality, food, drink, and community. The retro mid-century interior was designed by Shawn Hausman, an early founder of the 1980s New York club Area. The sound is anchored by a Hi-Fi system from Justin Gibbon and Alex Tebbs Mitchell of Great Circles, built around two horn-loaded Altec VOT-A7 speakers.
