Drop-in afternoon get-together for crafters to share, collaborate and learn crochet, knitting, sewing, quilting and other textile crafts.
Sew What?! is back at the Thomas F. Donatucci, Sr. Library on Friday, October 23, from 2 PM to 4 PM. It's an afternoon sewcial for anyone who works with textiles—crochet, knitting, sewing, embroidery, quilting, felting, and whatever else you're into. The whole point is to bring your current project and work on it around other people doing the same thing.
If you've got something half-finished sitting in a basket at home, this is a good excuse to actually get it done. You can show what you're making, talk shop with other fabric crafters, and collaborate or learn as you go. It's not a formal class with a set curriculum; you bring your own work and go at your own pace. If you're stuck on a particular stitch or just want to see how someone else handles a seam, there are other crafters right there to help.
For those who are still figuring things out, library staff are on hand to help you get started or show you how to use a sewing machine. That makes it a low-stakes way to pick up a new skill without having to commit to a full course. Whether you're a lifelong quilter or you've never even touched a needle, you'll fit in.

It's an in-person drop-in open to all ages, from school-age children to seniors, so you can bring the kids or your grandparents along. This particular session is part of a wider series that runs throughout the week with both afternoon and evening options, so if this Friday doesn't work, there are other times to catch it. The Donatucci session runs from 2 PM to 4 PM on Friday, October 23.
