Walk through the scarecrows at Morris Arboretum and vote for your favorite, with prize money for the top three designs.
The Scarecrow Walk & Design Contest kicks off at Morris Arboretum on Saturday, October 17, and runs through November 1. It's a simple enough setup: you walk through the arboretum and vote for your favorite scarecrows. The top three take home prize money, so your vote actually counts toward who gets paid.
If you've never been, the arboretum is in Chestnut Hill, at 100 E. Northwestern Avenue. It's a good excuse to get out to that part of the city, and since the walk stays open for two full weeks, you don't have to rush in on opening day. You can take your time with it, maybe come back a second time if you're torn between a few different entries.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Philadelphia and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's a family-friendly outing, too. Non-member adults are $20, non-member youth ages 3 to 18 are $10, and children under 3 get in free. If you're already a member, it's free. The walk runs from October 17 through November 1, so you've got a window of fifteen days to make your pick.
