A queer Latin dance party night featuring the Bronx-raised Dominican duo Planta Industrial and other artists.
Planta Industrial headlines the Sazón dance party at Underground Arts on Thursday, October 29, starting at 8 PM. Sazón is a queer latina night, and this edition puts the Bronx-raised Dominican duo at the center of the bill.
Planta Industrial is Saso and Aka The Darknight. They pull from post-punk, dark wave, pop, electronic, and rap, blending them into a sound that doesn't fit neatly into one box. They describe it as a sound that redefines genres and drives a cultural movement, and that mix of styles is exactly what they bring to the stage. If you're into the darker, danceable side of post-punk and electronic music, this is the kind of night you'll want to be at.
The venue is Underground Arts, a 650-capacity club in Philadelphia's Spring Garden neighborhood. It's been a part of the city's music and art community for more than a decade, starting as a vision to open the basement of the Wolf Building at 12th and Callowhill as an inclusive space for free artistic expression of all kinds. Over the years, it's become a regular stop for local acts and nationally touring live music.
