Afternoon of salsa dancing with DJs Big George and VSpice at Bok Bar, a rooftop beer terrace in South Philadelphia.
Salsa Sunday takes over Bok Bar on Sunday, October 18, from 3 PM to 8 PM, with DJs Big George and VSpice on the decks. It's an afternoon of salsa dancing on a rooftop, and it's free to get in.
If you haven't been, Bok Bar is a rooftop beer terrace on the eighth floor of the Bok Building, the former Bok Tech high school in South Philadelphia. It looks out over the city skyline. It started as a pop-up experiment by a team of twelve who built a bar in four weeks, and over the last eleven years it's grown into an annual summertime ritual. The programming there runs from yoga and live music to dance lessons, drag shows and community events. It's dog-friendly, and on family-friendly Sundays, minors aged 13 to 20 can come as long as they're with a parent or guardian. Around the corner is Darnel's, a mission-driven bake shop and cafe that raises awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
The session falls within Hispanic Heritage Month, which officially runs from September 15 to October 15, 2026, and carries a citywide slate of events highlighting Philadelphia's Hispanic and Latino community. This one keeps the energy going just past the official end date. Big George and VSpice will be providing the music for the dance floor, so you can spend your Sunday afternoon dancing above the city.
