Weekly Monday storytime and playgroup for babies and toddlers and their caregivers at the Charles L. Durham Library.
Read, Baby, Read is back at the Charles L. Durham Library on Monday, October 19, as part of the Free Library's Storytimes series. It's a storytime and playgroup for babies and toddlers and their caregivers, and siblings are welcome too, so you don't have to leave the older kids at home.
Each session is split into two parts. First comes the storytime: stories, songs, rhymes, and bounces. It's the kind of thing that gets the little ones moving and listening, with plenty of rhythm and repetition to hold their attention. After that, there's a playgroup for those who want to hang around. If you're in a rush, you can head out after the stories; if you've got the time, you can stay and let the kids play while you chat with other parents. It's a good way to get some social time in without having to organize a separate playdate.
The program is part of the Free Library's broader Storytimes series and is made possible by a grant from the William Penn Foundation. It's a recurring one, tooβit runs every Monday at 2 PM, so if this particular date doesn't work, there's another one the following week.
