Free sensory-friendly morning at the Please Touch Museum adapted for visitors with autism, learning disabilities and other sensory needs.
Play Without Boundaries returns to the Please Touch Museum on Sunday, November 15, from 9 AM to 11 AM. It's part of the museum's sensory-friendly event series, which they describe as part of a broader mission to ensure physical, emotional, intellectual and financial access for all children who learn through play.
During these mornings, the museum is adapted into a relaxed environment for visitors with autism, learning disabilities and other sensory or communication needs. Lighting and sound are lowered, and the space is reserved for pre-registered guests onlyβthe museum stays closed to the general public until 11 AM. They also provide pre-trip guides and programming led by educators trained in autism sensitivity, along with resources from community partners.
The series is made possible by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Hamilton Family Charitable Trust, with additional funding from the Wawa Foundation and the Ladies Aid Society of the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
