Free career exploration workshop for adults to discover careers that match their strengths and interests, with hands-on use of the Free Library's online training resources.
Philly Career Launch is hosting a career exploration workshop at the Joseph E. Coleman Northwest Regional Library on Tuesday, October 20. It runs from 11 AM to 3 PM, so it's a midday thing rather than an after-work drop-in. The session is aimed at adults, and the whole point is to help you figure out careers that actually fit your strengths and interests instead of just taking whatever comes your way.
It's not just a talk, though. You'll get hands-on experience with the Free Library's online resources, including their training-opportunity database at careertraining.freelibrary.org. If you've ever looked at that site from home and felt a bit lost, this is your chance to walk through it with people who can show you how to actually use it to find something that works for you.
There's a bit more context to this one: it's part of the Free Library of Philadelphia's broader Career Workshops series and falls within their Community Impact Week. The whole thing is made possible by PECO. The library is at 68 West Chelten Avenue, right at the corner of Greene Street and Chelten Avenue in Northwest Philly.

It's free to attend, and they're providing a boxed lunch, so you don't have to worry about finding food during the break. You do need to register in advance, so don't just show up on the day. It runs from 11 AM to 3 PM on Tuesday, October 20, at the Joseph E. Coleman Northwest Regional Library.
