Monthly gathering of adult cooking enthusiasts who cook from a selected book, share dishes and swap culinary ideas.
The Parkway Central Cookbook Club meets at the Parkway Central Library on Saturday, October 31, at 1 PM. It's a monthly gathering for adults who love cooking, talking about food, and trying out new recipes. If you spend most of your time in the kitchen alone, this is a good way to bring that part of your life out into the world.
Each month the group works from a single selected cookbook. Everyone cooks something from it, brings the dish to share, and swaps culinary ideas with the rest of the table. It's as much about the conversation as it is about the food. Once the meeting wraps, the group picks the next month's title from a list of books suggested by the members, so the reading list is built by the people who actually show up.
The meeting is held in the Science and Wellness section of the library, which fits the theme. It's a recurring thing, not a one-off, so if you find a group you like, there's another one waiting for you the following month. Registration is required to take part, so you'll want to sign up ahead of time rather than just dropping in.
