PA CareerLink Job Search Assistance

PA CareerLink is holding a job search assistance session at the Northeast Regional Library on Wednesday, October 21, from 11 AM to 4:30 PM. It's a drop-in setup, so you can stop by whenever fits your day.

The session is run by a Community Workforce Connector who works with you one-on-one. They can help you build a résumé from scratch or polish up an old one, talk through career counseling if you're not sure where to head next, and point you toward professional development workshops. It's open to adults, and the whole thing is about getting a person to sit down with you and help you figure out your next move rather than just handing you a list of links.

This isn't a one-off thing at a single spot, either. The program runs across several Free Library of Philadelphia branches, so if the Northeast location isn't convenient, you can find it elsewhere in the system. The library itself puts on more than 28,000 programs for all ages every year, and this is one of them. There's also a partnership with Dress for Success Greater Philadelphia that brings résumé review and job search assistance to the library on the first and second Thursday of each month on a first-come, first-served basis, and they offer free headshot photos to help you build a professional portfolio or a LinkedIn profile.

PA CareerLink Philadelphia is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Program, and auxiliary aids and services are available upon request for people with disabilities. The session at the Northeast Regional Library—located at 2228 Cottman Avenue, at Cottman Ave. and Oakland St., Philadelphia, PA 19149—runs from 11 AM to 4:30 PM on Wednesday, October 21.
