Opera, Broadway & Musical Theater Jam with Rouge Nightingale

Rouge Nightingale hosts an Opera, Broadway & Musical Theater Jam at Velvet Whip Arts & Social Club on Thursday, October 29, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. It's a networking jam session for singers, and it's open to anyone who sings—whether you're a pro or just do it for yourself.

The night started out as 'Opera Jam,' and it still keeps that same spirit: a practical, relaxed way for singers across Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware, and the surrounding states to get together and sing. The idea is to bring people from different backgrounds into one room, so it's as much about meeting other singers as it is about the music itself.

Rouge Nightingale is the one leading the night, and she's a bit of a multidisciplinary artist. Her background runs from animation and fine art to operatic performance, and she works across a wide range of styles. She sings regularly in the classical industry, but she's just as comfortable in modern and contemporary genres like hip-hop, burlesque, and cabaret. That's a lot of ground to cover, and it fits the jam's open-door approach—opera, Broadway, and musical theater are all on the table.

If you're a singer in the area, it's a good excuse to get out and sing with people you might not otherwise cross paths with. The session runs from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Velvet Whip Arts & Social Club in Philadelphia on Thursday, October 29. You can RSVP for free admission, or there's a $5 cover at the door.
