Nrityagram Dance Ensemble brings its tour 'KHAṄKHAṆĀ: the sound of dancing feet' to Penn Live Arts, within the Arts of India Festival.
Nrityagram Dance Ensemble brings KHAṄKHAṆĀ: the sound of dancing feet to Penn Live Arts on November 6 and 7, 2026. The ensemble is the main feature of these two nights, and the title itself points to what's at the center of the show: the rhythmic sound of dancing feet.
These performances are part of the Arts of India Festival, which runs across October and November 2026. Penn Live Arts is presenting the festival in partnership with Sruti, The India Music and Dance Society, as part of the society's 40th anniversary. The festival celebrates India's cultural heritage and puts a renowned dance ensemble alongside a tribute to Zakir Hussain, cutting-edge jazz, a community day spotlighting local artists, participatory experiences, and discussions on the ongoing impact of these traditions. There are also special performances for area schoolchildren, and the whole thing culminates with Diwali.

If you're interested in Indian dance, this is the main event of the festival's dance programming. The ensemble performs KHAṄKHAṆĀ on November 6 and 7 at Penn Live Arts in Philadelphia.
