Family storytime that combines stories, songs, rhymes and movement for children aged seven and under and their caregivers.
Music and Movement Storytime is coming to Walnut Street West Library this fall, and it's a series rather than a one-off. It's a family session that brings together stories, songs, rhymes and movement to celebrate all things music, aimed at children aged seven and under and their caregivers. If you've got little ones, it's the kind of thing you can drop into once or keep as a regular Saturday morning tradition.
Each session mixes reading with singing and moving around, so it's not just sitting and listening. The stories are paired with songs and rhymes, and the movement part means the kids get to be active rather than just staying in their seats. It's designed for children seven and under, so it's geared toward the preschool and early elementary crowd, and it's a caregiver-led experience, meaning you're right there with them throughout.
The sessions are part of the Free Library of Philadelphia's Storytimes series, which sits within their broader community events and family programming. It's a Free Library event, so it's free to attend.
