Zine-making workshop led by Tyler Kline of Pink Noise Projects, previewing the Free Library of Philadelphia Zine Collection.
Tyler Kline of Pink Noise Projects is leading a zine-making workshop at Parkway Central Library on Monday, October 26, at 1 PM. The session focuses on pamphlet stitching, one of the simplest ways to bind a zine by hand, so you'll walk away with something you actually made yourself.
The workshop is held in the library's Art Department, which houses the Free Library of Philadelphia Zine Collection. That collection currently holds over 1,000 zines, built around a donation of more than 800 titles from the artist collective Little Berlin. Right now, only about 100 of those are available for library use while the rest are being cataloged and processed. The library plans to make them part of its permanent public collections and will launch a series of events to formally introduce the collection in early 2027.
Coming to this session gives you a preview of that growing collection and a chance to hear about related projects before the full launch next year. It's also part of the Collective Futures Festival, which runs from October 2 to November 15 across Philadelphia, so it fits into a larger stretch of city-wide programming.
