Weekly Thursday club for children to build with LEGO and other construction toys at the Queen Memorial Library.
Lego Club is back at Queen Memorial Library this Thursday, October 22, from 3:30 to 4:45 PM. It's one of the library's children's sessions, where kids spend the hour building with LEGO and other construction toys. There's no set project to follow, so they can just build whatever they're in the mood for.
If you're not familiar with the spot, Queen Memorial Library is at 1201 South 23rd Street in Philadelphia. It sits on the lower level of the Landreth Apartments, which is part of the old Landreth School—an 1889 building that later became a multi-purpose achievement center. The library itself opened in 1907, joined the Free Library of Philadelphia system in 1912, and moved into this current location on January 17, 1995. It serves the Point Breeze, Grays Ferry, and Graduate Hospital neighborhoods with programming for all ages: Family Storytime and LEAP Afterschool for the kids, Cooking Club and Video Game Hangouts for teens, and free after-school meals and summer lunches. Lego Club is one of those children's sessions.

One thing to keep in mind: Lego Club runs every Thursday, but not every single week. On the third Thursday of each month, Beyblade Club takes over the slot instead. Since October 22 is the fourth Thursday, Lego Club is on as usual. It runs from 3:30 to 4:45 PM at Queen Memorial Library, 1201 South 23rd Street.
