After-school LEAP arts and crafts session where school-age children make emoji mood magnets at the Eastwick Library.
Eastwick Library is hosting LEAP Emoji Mood Magnets on Wednesday, October 21, at 3:30 PM. It's a children's workshop where kids get to make their own emoji magnets, and it's part of the library's after-school programming.
If you haven't come across it before, LEAP stands for Library of Early Afternoon Programs. It's the Free Library of Philadelphia's after-school series for children and teens, and it runs across many of the system's branches. The library puts on more than 28,000 programs for all ages every year, and LEAP is the weekly part of that meant for school-age kids. The sessions tend to mix hands-on crafts with games and STEM exploration, so it's not just one thing—one week might be a science project, the next a game, and the one after that a craft.
This particular session falls on the arts and crafts side of the mix. The kids will be making emoji magnets, the kind of little project they can actually keep and use on the fridge at home. It's the kind of low-pressure, creative afternoon that works well for a school day, and it's open to school-age children.
