Screening of Israeli short films at The Weitzman as part of the Philadelphia Jewish Film + Media Festival.
Israeli Shorts is coming to The Weitzman on Thursday, November 14, from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. It's a screening of Israeli short films, and it's part of the Philadelphia Jewish Film + Media Festival (PJFMF), the annual autumn festival presented by Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media (PJFM), a program of The Weitzman dedicated to Jewish storytelling across cinema and digital media.
PJFM is a nonprofit that's been running for 44 years, and it describes its mission as creating connection and community through Jewish cinema and digital storytelling, with year-round educational and entertaining programs that invite everyone to engage with Jewish culture and values. The festival is known for an inclusive format: all forms of digital media are eligible for exhibition, not just traditional film. That includes episodic content, digital art, gaming, music videos, podcasts, AI, the metaverse, XR, and mixed-media performance. Audience awards are handed out for best narrative feature, best documentary feature, best short film, and best of digital chutzpah. In 2025, the festival was named a Jewish Exponent Readers' Choice Winner for Best Community Event.
