Library storytime with stories, songs and interactive fun for children aged 0-2, led by Ms. Susan and Ms. Haley.
Wynnefield Library is hosting Infant/Toddler Storytime on Wednesday, October 21, at 10:30 AM. It's led by Ms. Susan and Ms. Haley and is for children aged 0 to 2, so it's geared toward the youngest end of the house. The session is part of the library's Storytimes series, a collection of literacy-focused family programs for babies and toddlers.
The first half is the storytime itself: stories, songs, and interactive fun. After that, the session opens up for playtime with manipulatives and themed activities, so the kids can keep moving and working with their hands once the reading is done. It's a good way to spend a Wednesday morning if you're home with a little one.
Wynnefield Library is at 5325 Overbrook Avenue in Philadelphia, PA 19131. The branch serves the Wynnefield and Overbrook Farms communities and sits right next to the John C. Anderson Cultural Center, near St. Joseph's University. It opened in June 1964 after a long campaign by the Wynnefield Residents Association, which also brought about the Wynnefield Cultural Center that now bears Anderson's name. The neighborhood takes its name from Dr. Thomas Wynne, a Welsh physician to William Penn who built the home Wynnestay in 1690—'stay' means 'field' in Welsh. The branch re-opened in September 2000 after extensive technological upgrades and the addition of public computers.
