Halloween costume party for the improv community with a DJ, drinks, candy and cake at Vox Populi.
Improv'o'ween takes over the Black Box at Vox Populi on Saturday, October 31, from 8 PM to midnight. It's a Halloween party for the improv community, put on by Cake and Fiona Improv Collective, and it's part of the gallery's wider Halloween programming. The night is built around a costume party, with drinks, candy, cake, and an otherworldly atmosphere to set the mood.
DJ Slashly is on the decks, spinning house, hyper pop, hardcore, and various other genresโthough he notes that none of them start with the letter H. He also lists hockey, Hemingway, and Halloween as things he's into, which fits the spirit of the night. Between the costumes and the DJ, the whole thing is set up as a social for the improv scene rather than a formal show, so it's as much about hanging out with the community as it is about the music.
