Jazz saxophonist Ikechi Onyenaka plays original music from 'The City Dreams EP' and cover songs at The Loft at City Winery.
Ikechi Onyenaka plays The Loft at City Winery on Sunday, October 18, at 7:30 PM. He's a jazz saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and recording artist from Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, and this is a local name coming back to the city. He's built his sound on emotionally driven saxophone melodies, atmospheric piano chords, and tight bass lines.
His band plays original music from his debut studio project, The City Dreams EP, alongside cover songs, so you'll hear his own writing and some familiar territory in the same set. He's an endorsed artist with Neotech Straps and Beechler Mouthpieces, and his work has been shared by people like Will Smith, Pitbull, DJ Khaled, Snoop Dogg, DDG, OG Parker, Bankrol Hayden, Rotimi, Romeo Miller, SoulForReal, Be ON IT, LeriQ, Facebook Watch, 6abc Action News, and NBC10 Philadelphia.
He's played around Philadelphia before, with dates at SOUTH Jazz Kitchen, TIME Restaurant, and Rex South Street. He's working toward becoming a world-renowned solo artist and a sideman for both mainstream and independent artists.
