Trick-or-treating experience at Northwestern Stables with costumed horses and riders handing out treats to visitors.
Northwestern Stables is bringing back Haunted Horses on Saturday, October 24, in Chestnut Hill. It's one of the stable's most popular annual events and a fundraiser for them, too. The whole thing is set up as a trick-or-treating experience for families: you walk through the barn and run into costumed horses and riders handing out treats along the way. The stable's team puts together costumes for more than two dozen horses, so you'll see a lot of them dressed up as you make your way through. The barn is filled with ghosts, goblins and superheroes, and the candy keeps coming as you go.
It's a family-friendly afternoon, and the stable describes it as a spooktacularly fun experience for young and old alike. If you're looking for something to do with kids around Halloween, this is a pretty straightforward oneโcostumed horses, a barn full of characters, and plenty of candy. Guided horse rides are available as well, though those cost extra.
