Family Halloween show hosted by Dr. Magic with kid-friendly scary stories, live magic, comedy, a costume parade and contest, recommended for ages 7 to 12.
Dr. Magic brings his annual Halloween show to The Stagecrafters Theater in Chestnut Hill on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24. Both nights run from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, so you've got two chances to catch it.
The whole evening is staged as an open house at Dr. Magic's School, where prospective students can find out if they have what it takes to join the ranks of the world's most delightfully frightful creatures. Dr. Magic himself hosts, mixing kid-friendly scary stories with live magic, comedy, and audience interaction. It's recommended for ages 7 to 12, so it's built for families with kids in that range rather than the very little ones.
There's more to do than just sit in the seats. Families can take part in pre-show activities, including a photo booth, and there's a costume parade and contest during intermission, with prizes awarded at the end of the show. If you're bringing kids, dressing them up is part of the point here.
