Halloween weekend of trick-or-treat, fall dinners and the annual Halloween Pet Costume Parade in the Chestnut Hill Business District.
Halloween on the Hill takes over the Chestnut Hill Business District from October 24 to 31, turning the historic village into a fall backdrop for a week of Halloween happenings. The main draw is the Trick-or-Treat Stroll, which runs from 1 to 3 PM on Saturday, October 24. Families walk Germantown Avenue and Bethlehem Pike in costume, stopping at participating shops and restaurants that display a 'Treats Here' sign and hand out candy and non-food goodies. Many of those businesses also join the Teal Pumpkin Project, started by FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education), which provides safe, non-food treats for the one in 13 children living with food allergies.
The weekend continues on Sunday, October 25, with the Chestnut Hill Community Association's annual Halloween Pet Parade, from 12:30 to 1 PM. It's a costume contest for pets with prizes across four categories: Scariest, Cutest, Look-a-like with their owner, and Most Creative. Between the stroll on Saturday and the parade on Sunday, there's plenty of reason to spend the whole weekend up in the Hill.
