Free all-ages double feature screening of 'Hocus Pocus' followed by 'Halloween' on the lawn of Stateside Live! in South Philadelphia.
Stateside Live! is kicking off its Halloween weekend with a double feature movie night on Thursday, October 29, at 1100 S Pattison Ave in South Philly. The lineup is Hocus Pocus followed by Halloween, two classics that lean in opposite directions—one a family-friendly favorite, the other a slasher that basically invented the modern horror movie. It's an all-ages event, so it works whether you're bringing the kids or just hanging out with friends.
This is the first chapter of a four-day Halloween celebration that runs from October 29 through November 1. The movie night is the opening act, and the rest of the weekend pairs outdoor screenings with a star-powered DJ set, an all-out Halloween party, and a boozy brunch crawl. If you're in the city for the whole thing, this is the night to start with.
The movie night itself is outdoors on the lawn, so you'll want to bring blankets to settle in under the stars. If you're hungry, there's rooftop dining at AVA Rooftop Bar and indoor dining at Live! Arena, but keep in mind that outside food and drinks aren't allowed on the grounds. Since it's all ages, anyone under 21 needs to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian over 25.
