A family-friendly trick-or-treat trail through Philadelphia's Historic District with over 25 participating venues offering treats and programming.
Halloween in the Historic District is back on Sunday, October 18, with the trail starting at the Independence Visitor Center. It's a family-friendly trick-or-treat through Philadelphia's Historic District, and this year more than 25 partners are on board, each handing out treats and running their own programming along the way.
Here's how it works: you pick up a treat bag and a trail map at the start, then follow the route through Independence Mall and the surrounding streets to the participating museums and historic sites. Since the trail winds through the neighborhood rather than staying in one spot, it's as much a walk through the district as it is a trick-or-treat. The map keeps you on track, and the treat bag is ready to fill as you go from one stop to the next.
It's worth keeping in mind that Philadelphia treats Halloween as a six-week holiday, with events running from late September into the first week of November, so this is one of several ways the city marks the season. This particular day is built for families, with the trick-or-treating and the partner activities spread across the trail.
