Halloween party at Philadelphia's oldest tavern with seasonal decorations, costumed bartenders, specialty cocktails and costume karaoke.
McGillin's Olde Ale House is leaning into its spooky side this October with a couple of dates: costume karaoke on Wednesday, October 28, and a Halloween party on Friday, October 31. It's a good excuse to get dressed up and head to Center City for a few drinks around the holiday.
If you haven't spent much time there, McGillin's is Philadelphia's oldest continually operating tavern, a 165-year-old spot that still houses a resident ghost at the bar. The Halloween celebrations play right into that history. They'll have seasonal decorations like pumpkins and cobwebs around the place, costumed bartenders behind the bar, and a menu of specialty cocktails and autumn-themed drinks to sip on while you're there.
Beyond the Halloween stuff, the bar is a stronghold for Eagles fans, who watch every game on the jumbo projector screen and order Iggletinis and Touchdown Tea. If you're into history and old-school bars, there's also a book on the tavern, Cheers to McGillin's, Philly's Oldest Bar, that you can read. It's the kind of place that works just as well for a quiet drink as it does for a game day crowd.
