Evening educational program about the role of bats in Pennsylvania and how to support them, with a presentation and a walk to see bats in action.
Morris Arboretum & Gardens is hosting Going Batty! on Wednesday, October 28, at 6 PM. It's an evening educational program timed for Bat Week, the annual recognition of the role bats play in the ecosystem, and it's open to all ages.
The night starts with a short presentation on what bats do for Pennsylvania's environment and what you can do to support them in your own yard and neighborhood. From there, the group heads out on an explorational walk to see bats in action. It's a good way to get a look at them doing their thing rather than just hearing about it.
The program is part of ArBOOretum Month, the Arboretum's month-long celebration of autumn that runs from October 1 to 31. That includes the 19th Annual Scarecrow Walk and the Morris Pumpkin Cottage, so if you're already planning to spend some time there this October, this fits right in.
