Volunteer park clean-up hosted by Friends of FDR Park at the FDR Park welcome center.
Friends of FDR Park are hosting another clean-up session at FDR Park this Saturday, October 17, from 10 AM to 12 PM. It's a volunteer event, so you just show up and help out for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning.
Friends of FDR Park is the community group that stewards the park, and they organize these clean-ups and other stewardship activities throughout the year. The park features Pollinator and Learning Gardens that volunteers help maintain, so the work isn't just about picking up litterβit's part of the ongoing care they put into the grounds. These sessions are hosted alongside Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, two of the city's main partners in keeping the park system running.

If you've never been, the meeting point is the Welcome Center at 1800 Pattison Ave, FDR Park, Philadelphia, PA 19145. That's where you'll find the group before heading out into the park. It's a two-hour window, 10 AM to 12 PM, so you're in and out by noon.
