Storytime for young children with songs, puppets, rhythms, books and playtime at Logan Library.
Family Storytime is back at Logan Library this Saturday, October 24, at 11:30 AM. It's a session for young children, and if you've got a toddler at home, it's exactly the kind of thing that makes a Saturday morning in the city easy. The whole thing is run by the Free Library of Philadelphia, so it's part of the city's public library system rather than a private class.
The format is a mix of things that keep little ones engaged without asking them to sit still for too long. There are songs and rhythms to get them moving, puppets to hold their attention, and books read aloud. It's not just a reading circle, eitherโthere's playtime built in, so the kids can burn off some energy between the stories. It's designed for toddlers, which means it's geared toward that age where they're just starting to really follow a story but still need to wiggle and play.
If you're not already familiar, Logan Library is one of the Free Library's central branches, right in the heart of Philadelphia. It's a good spot to drop in with a stroller and a toddler, and since it's a library program, it's free to attend. You just show up with your little one and join in.
