Free outdoor vintage flea market with clothes, jewelry, antiques and collectibles, with Sunday as the rain date.
Phila Flea Markets is bringing its outdoor vintage market back to the Drexel University area on Saturday, October 24, from 8 AM to 5 PM. It's at 3400 Lancaster Ave in University City, and if the weather doesn't cooperate, there's a rain date set for Sunday, October 25.
If you've never come across them, Phila Flea Markets—or the Philly Flea, as most people call it—is the longest-running organized flea market group in the city. They've been at it since 1985, so this is their 41st year. Their outdoor markets move through different neighborhoods during the warmer months, from April through October, and they also run a year-round indoor vintage market at the Gateway Shopping Center in Wayne, plus an outdoor market at Franklin Mills. Travel Lemming once named them one of the '41 Things To Do In Philly.'
What you'll find there is a wide spread of vintage and antique goods. There are racks of clothes and accessories that run from Victorian outfits to original Y2K, and plenty of jewelry, hats, and bags. For the home, there's antique furniture, artwork, pottery, home décor, glassware, porcelain, and cookware. If you're hunting for collectibles, you'll see comic books, toys, retro video games, vinyl records, band tees, and posters. It's the kind of place where you can walk in looking for one specific thing and walk out with a few things you didn't know you wanted.
