Actor and comedian Craig Robinson brings his piano-led musical comedy act, with his seven-piece band The Nasty Delicious, to the Helium Comedy Club.
Craig Robinson plays Helium Comedy Club on Saturday, November 21, at 9:30 PM. Most of us know him as Darryl Philbin from The Office, but this is his musical comedy act, and the piano is the center of it.
Robinson didn't start in comedy. He was a K-8 teacher in the Chicago Public School System before he got into acting and stand-up at Second City. He made his mark on the circuit at the 1998 Montreal 'Just For Laughs' Festival, and he's been working both sides of the stage ever since. He performs solo and with his seven-piece band, The Nasty Delicious, and he brings that same piano-led comedy to the stage here.
Beyond The Office, he's put in a lot of time in front of the camera. He's been in Knocked Up, This is the End, Hot Tub Time Machine, Dolemite is My Name!, and The Bad Guys. He also had his own sitcom, Mr. Robinson, and he's the executive producer and star of Peacock's Killing It. The Philadelphia dates are part of a multi-night takeover of the club, so he'll be around for more than just the one show.
