Free eight-week digital skills course for adults and seniors learning to use a computer and get online, run by the Free Library of Philadelphia and Beyond Literacy.
Computer Skills for Beginners is holding a session at the South Philadelphia Library on Monday, October 26, at 2 PM. This one is a closed session, so it's for people already enrolled in the program rather than a drop-in class.
The course itself is a free eight-week digital skills program run by the Free Library of Philadelphia, with the training provided by Beyond Literacy. It's aimed at adults and seniors who are learning how to use a computer and get online from the ground up. Over the course of the eight weeks, students work through the basics of getting comfortable with a machine and navigating the web, so if you've been putting off learning the ropes, this is exactly the kind of thing that helps you get started without feeling rushed.

Because this particular session is closed, you can't just show up on the 26th and jump in. But if you're interested in signing up for a future session, you can call 215-474-1235 to get your name on the list. The program is free, and the library is located at 1700 South Broad Street, at the corner of Broad and Morris Streets in South Philly.
