NHL regular-season game between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Colorado Avalanche at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
The Colorado Avalanche take on the Philadelphia Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Monday, October 19, for an NHL matchup that brings the Avalanche into Philadelphia. It's a regular-season game, so the Flyers are playing on home ice.
For anyone who follows the league, the Flyers are a franchise with a long history here. They've been one of the NHL's premier franchises since 1967, and they've built a legacy of achievement backed by a passionate and loyal fan base around the world. That history is a big part of what makes a home game in Philadelphia different from a road game anywhere else—the crowd is a factor in its own right.
The Avalanche are the visitors for this one, coming in from Colorado to face the Flyers in their own building. It's a cross-conference matchup, so it's not a game that comes around every week. If you've been keeping track of the standings, this is one of those early-season games that sets the tone for the rest of the year.
