Free guided tour of the 'Lovely Day' mural by artist Lauren 'Cat' West, led by a Color Me Back guide under Walnut Street Station.
Color Me Back is leading guided tours of the mural Lovely Day at Walnut-Locust Station starting Thursday, October 22. The mural is by artist Lauren 'Cat' West, and the tours are led by Color Me Back participants. It's part of Mural Arts Month 2026, which celebrates Philadelphia's public art with more than 4,000 murals, a processional performance piece, an art crawl, and a river-to-river citywide exhibition.
Lovely Day is finally on view after a long closure. West designed the piece, and Color Me Back participants brought it to completion between August 2020 and March 2021. It sits under SEPTA's Walnut Street Station, whose concourse reopened to the public this summer. Color Me Back is a Mural Arts program that combines participatory art-making with access to economic opportunities, so the people leading the tours are the same ones who helped paint the wall.
