Monthly discussion group of the Free Library of Philadelphia on Philadelphia history and city planning, this session covers the dredging of the Delaware River.
The City Planning Club meets at the Parkway Central Library on Thursday, October 22, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. This session focuses on the dredging of the Delaware River, one of those big, industrial-scale projects that shape the city in ways most of us never really stop to think about.
If you haven't come across them before, the City Planning Club is a monthly discussion group run by the Free Library of Philadelphia. It centers on Philadelphia history and connects local history with city planning and development. Each session takes up a different local planning or history topic—past meetings have covered things like the East Passyunk Project and the Bellweather District—and this one turns to the dredging of the Delaware River. It's a series aimed at adults and seniors, and it's tagged with Philadelphia History and Philly 250.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Philadelphia and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
