Free library makerspace session where toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children build with LEGO, Magna-Tiles, cardboard crafts and wooden blocks.
Builder Club is back at Haverford Library on Tuesday, October 27, at 4 PM. It's a free makerspace program for kids, part of the Free Library of Philadelphia's LEGO programming, which is one of more than 28,000 programs the library runs for all ages every year. It sits alongside Build It Club, Lego Club and Construction Club, and falls under the library's makerspaces and makers programs.
Inside, kids get to build with LEGO, Magna-Tiles, cardboard crafts, KEVA planks, Bionicles, wooden blocks and marble runs. They're encouraged to build freely, enter contests with other builders and get to know shapes and engineering design along the way. The sessions are open to toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children, with toddlers given their own space to build with age-appropriate blocks and older patrons welcome in to help. It's a good spot for a rainy afternoon or a way to burn off some energy after school.
