STEM-based building club for preschool and school-age children to build with LEGO, Magna Tiles and wooden blocks.
Build It Club is back at the Chestnut Hill Library on Thursday, October 22, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM. It's one of the Free Library of Philadelphia's STEM-based building programs, and this particular session is open to children who want to spend an afternoon building with a bunch of different construction toys. The format works for preschool and school-age kids, so it's a good fit whether you've got a little one who's just starting out or an older child who's already a bit of a pro.
There's plenty to choose from, and it's not just LEGO. They've got LEGO instructional books for those who like to follow a plan, Magna Tiles for magnetic building, Bionicles for the more technical side of things, and classic wooden blocks for the basics. The variety means there's something for pre-Duplo beginners and big-kid LEGO masters alike, and the whole point is to build, learn, and play together. It's a low-pressure environment where kids can just hang out and create whatever comes to mind.
