Playtime session for babies and toddlers aged two and under with their caregivers, with music, books and toys.
Baby and Toddler Playtime! is back at Parkway Central Library on Tuesday, October 20, at 12 PM. It's part of the Free Library of Philadelphia's children's programming, which runs more than 28,000 programs for all ages every year, with storytimes sitting at the heart of their literacy and family work.
This one is designed as a follow-up to storytime, so caregivers are encouraged to stay behind after the reading ends. It's for babies and toddlers aged two and under, along with their parents, grandparents, or other caregivers. The whole point is to let the little ones play, talk, sing, and explore books and toys while listening to music, picking up social, emotional, fine, and gross motor skills as they go. It's a low-pressure way to get them around other kids and books at the same time.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Philadelphia and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The setting changes with the weather: when it's cool, it's in the ground-floor auditorium; when it's warm, it moves to Shakespeare Park across the street. On October 20, you'll find it in the Storyhour Room in the Children's Department of the Parkway Central Library, at 1901 Vine Street, between 19th and 20th Streets on the Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103-1189. It starts at 12 PM.
