Weekend watercolor workshop on autumn leaves and fruit with instructor Linda Gist at PAFA, covering wet-into-wet and dry-brush techniques.
Linda Gist is leading a watercolor workshop on autumn leaves and fruit at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25. Both days run from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, so it's a full weekend of painting. The session is held in Room 610 of the Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building at 118-128 North Broad Street in Philadelphia.
Gist frames watercolor as the ideal medium for capturing the jewel-like tones and gradients of autumn's leaves and harvests, and the work draws on natural forms. The workshop includes demonstrations of wet-into-wet and dry-brush techniques, and Gist provides one-on-one instruction throughout the weekend. It's open to all experience levels, so you don't need a background in painting to join in.

The session is part of PAFA's Continuing Education weekend workshop program, and registration closes in October, so you'll want to sign up before the deadline if you're planning to go. The cost is $195 for the weekend.
