Weekly Saturday outdoor market with Black-owned businesses, food, crafts, live music, yoga and children's activities at FDR Park.
The African American Market is back at FDR Park this Saturday, October 17, as part of its run that's been going every Saturday since May 2. It's an outdoor marketplace built around culture, food and local business, and by now it's a regular part of the park's Saturday schedule.
The shopping is the main draw. You'll find a diverse lineup of Black-owned businesses and local entrepreneurs selling food, pastries and juices alongside handmade goods, apparel, artwork, vintage clothing, jewelry, candles, soaps and artisan crafts. It's the kind of spread where you can pick up something to eat and a few things for the house in one trip.
But it works as a social hub too, not just a place to shop. Throughout the day, families can get into yoga, wellness workshops, children's activities, cooking demonstrations and water fights, with live music running in the background. If you're bringing kids, there's plenty to keep them busy while you browse the stalls.

This Saturday is one of the last few left in the season. The market runs every Saturday through October 31, with the finale on the 31st closing out a summer of supporting small businesses and celebrating Black creativity in the city. You'll find it at FDR Park, 1500 Pattison Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19145, at Picnic Sites 13 and 14. Admission is free, and it's open from 10 AM to 6 PM.
