Holiday swing dance show led by tap star Caleb Teicher with a cast of Lindy Hop champions and the Eyal Vilner Big Band playing live.
A Very Sw!ng Out Holiday comes to the Zellerbach Theatre on December 11 and 12, presented by Penn Live Arts as part of the university's 26/27 season dance series. It's a holiday twist on Sw!ng Out, the show that first played Philadelphia's Annenberg in 2023.
Tap dancer Caleb Teicher leads a cast of Lindy Hop champions dancing to festive classics played live by the Eyal Vilner Big Band. The New Yorker has called Teicher "one of the brightest lights in tap today," and the show builds around that energy. The performance closes with a jam session that invites the audience to join the revelry on stage—a formula the New York Times described as a "sweeping ride through contemporary swing dance."
There are three performances over the weekend: Friday, December 11 at 7:30 PM, and Saturday, December 12 at 2 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets run from $44 to $94, and since it's part of the Penn Live Arts season, subscriptions are available with savings of up to 35% if you're planning on catching more than one show this year.
