Book club evening with a discussion of 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants', a craft lesson and embroidery on jeans, plus a drink from Jet Wine Bar.
Jet Wine Bar is hosting a book club evening around Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants on Tuesday, October 27, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It's the second of two sessions, the first having run on Saturday, September 26, from 12 PM to 2 PM, so if you missed the first one, this is your chance to jump in.
The whole thing is built around Ann Brashares's 2001 novel, and the evening mixes a discussion of the book with a bit of lighter territory. They'll be talking about why the movie is billed as Blake Lively's finest acting performance to date and trading hot takes on the characters—Tibby included. It's as much about the nostalgia of the story as it is about the book itself.
There's a craft element to the night, too. Each session includes a drink from Jet Wine Bar, a custom bookmark, and a craft lesson. You're encouraged to bring your own copy of the book to be marked with a custom 'On The Books' event stamp, and your own jeans or another piece of clothing to customize during an embroidery lesson—a nod to the denim that ties the whole story together. If you're looking for something new to read after, Head House Books will be on-site with recommended contemporary fiction for sale.
