Drama directed by Lance Oppenheim about the reality show 'To Catch a Predator', starring Robert Pattinson and Anna Faris, at Curzon Oxford.
Primetime is showing at Curzon Oxford from Wednesday 28 October, running through to Sunday 1 November. It's a drama based on a true story, and it's one of those films that's easier to describe by what it's about than by a plot summary: it follows Chris Hansen, the host of To Catch a Predator, as he sets out to make television history in 2006, when an ambitious TV presenter and a young actor become involved in a reality show designed to catch paedophiles. It's directed by Lance Oppenheim and stars Robert Pattinson, Anna Faris and Skyler Gisondo.
If you're not familiar with the source material, To Catch a Predator was the American reality series where Hansen would confront people who had arranged to meet children, catching them on camera as they walked through the door. The film looks at the people behind the scenes of that production, and it's certified 15.
It's playing at Curzon Oxford, the five-screen arthouse cinema at the top of the Westgate Centre (OX1 1NZ). This is the cinema's largest screen, with 172 seats and a 35mm projector, and the seating is split between individual seats and two-person sofas, so you can bring a friend and share one. The venue has a cafe-bar and a night-time bar, and its programme runs from mainstream blockbusters to arthouse and indie fare. Beyond the films, it also hosts filmmaker Q&As and four VR experiences covering nature, art, horror and family.
