Friday night Magic: The Gathering game night played in the Pauper format at TCG Oxford on Walton Street.
TCG Oxford is hosting another Friday Night Magic on Thursday 22 October, and this time it's a Pauper night. If you're not familiar with the format, Pauper means every card in your deck has to be a common. It's one of the more accessible ways to play, because you're not hunting down rare, expensive cards to build a competitive deck — you're working with the cards that most players already have in their boxes.
It's part of the regular Friday Night Magic run at the shop, so if you've been before, you know the drill. You bring your deck, find a table, and spend the evening playing through a series of rounds. The Pauper format keeps things grounded, and it's usually a good night for anyone who prefers the strategic side of the game over who's got the deepest pockets.
TCG Oxford is over on Walton Street, just off the city centre. It's a proper local spot for the Magic community here, so you'll find plenty of other players on the night, whether you're a regular or just coming in for a one-off. If you've been thinking about getting back into the game, a common-only night is a decent place to start.

The session runs from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, so it's a relatively tight window — you'll get your games in and be home by mid-evening. Entry is £10. If you're planning to play, it's worth getting your deck sorted beforehand, as the Pauper format means you'll be seeing a lot of the same commons across the room.
