At the Oxford Playhouse on Beaumont Street, Snow White runs from Friday 20 November to Sunday 3 January, written by Sarah Henley and directed by Mike Tweddle. It is aimed at ages five and up, runs two hours and twenty minutes with an interval, and is the most accessible show of the lot: relaxed performances, BSL, audio description, captioning, dementia-friendly shows and touch tours are all on the table, and babies under 18 months get in free on a lap. Prices vary by performance and seat.
Over in Chipping Norton, The Snow Queen runs from Wednesday 18 November to Thursday 17 January, written by Toby Hulse and directed by Caroline Leslie with music by Paul Herbert, and sponsored by Bloxham School. It also runs two hours and twenty minutes and is aimed at children aged four to 104. Tickets are tiered by demand: off-peak £18 to £30, standard £26 to £38 and peak £34 to £46, with school tickets at £13 and an early bird advance price of £11. There are relaxed performances on Friday 27 November at 11:00 and Thursday 10 December at 16:00, supported by The Albion Charity; a captioned show on Saturday 5 December at 14:00; and an audio-described performance on Saturday 28 November at 14:00 with a touch tour at 13:00. If you would rather go without the children, there are adult-only 18+ performances on Friday 4 December at 6pm, Friday 11 December at 7pm and Friday 8 January at 7pm, plus stage tours on Tuesday 22 and Tuesday 29 December at 6pm. Concessions cover under 16s, DLA, Unwaged Allowance, NUS, NHS and Pension Credit, and if you book 14 tickets, the 15th is free outside the peak tier. The box office is 01608 642350.
