Treetorial: How To Style & Decorate Your Tree This Year

John Lewis Nottingham is running a Christmas tree masterclass, called Treetorial: How To Style & Decorate Your Tree This Year, on Saturday 21 November. It starts at 14:00, and the meeting point is The World of Design on the second floor of the store at 109 Milton Street, NG1 3QA.

The session is run by John Lewis Home Design Stylists, who take you through the whole process of putting together a Christmas tree. They start with the basics — picking the right shape and size for your space — and move on to the more practical bits, like calculating how many lights you actually need to cover the branches without leaving gaps. From there, they help you settle on a decorating theme, so you're not just throwing things on as you go.

There's a live styling demonstration to watch, and you'll get a preview of hand-picked ornaments to see what's on the shelves. They also walk you through the store's four signature decorating themes for 2026, which should give you a few ideas if you're stuck on a look. It's a good way to get a handle on the things that usually feel like guesswork — the lighting, the proportions, the theme — before you start on your own tree at home.

Tickets are £10, and that amount is redeemable against any Christmas tree or decoration purchases you make on the day, so it effectively pays for itself if you're planning to buy.
