Annual red carpet experience with a live fashion showcase of handcrafted garments, dance, poetry, guest performances and an awards ceremony.
Threads of Resilience — The Red Carpet Experience is at Djanogly Theatre on Saturday 24 October, from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm. It's the sixth edition of the annual red carpet event hosted by Skilled Hands Organisation CIC, and this year's theme, Threads of Resilience, puts the focus on the stories behind the clothes. The organisers describe it as more than a fashion show: a mix of fashion, storytelling, performance and artistic expression meant to showcase the power of resilience through creativity.
The main event is a live fashion showcase of original handcrafted garments, presented on the runway by emerging and community models. It's not just about the clothes, though — the runway is shared with dance, poetry and special guest performances, and the afternoon includes an awards ceremony honouring outstanding women and participants. The red carpet isn't just for the people on stage, either; guests step onto it themselves, with photo opportunities throughout.
There's a VIP package available if you want to go all in: priority front seating, a pre-event welcome drink, buffet-style refreshments, access to an exclusive VIP lounge and a thank-you gift bag. All proceeds go to Skilled Hands Organisation CIC, a community organisation that works with women and young people through creative skills, confidence-building programmes and opportunities for personal and economic growth.
