The S.O.S. Band tour the 45th anniversary of their 1983 hit 'Just Be Good To Me' with special guests Loose Ends.
The S.O.S Band play the Royal Concert Hall on Saturday 29 May 2027, as part of their Just Be Good To Me 45th Anniversary Tour. They're joined by special guests Loose Ends, so it's a double bill of 80s soul and funk on one stage.
The tour is built around 'Just Be Good To Me', the band's biggest US release. It was written and recorded in the autumn of 1982 and came out in the spring of 1983 on the album On The Rise. The single reached number two on the US Billboard R&B chart and sat at the top of the UK dancefloor charts for more than six weeks before landing a Top 10 place. It's remained a staple of the era's jazz-funk and soul scene, alongside later hits like 'Weekend Girl', 'High Hopes', 'Borrowed Love' and the number one 'The Finest'.
The S.O.S Band started in Atlanta in 1977 as Sounds of Success, with Mary Davis fronting the group. They've spent decades working within the soul and funk tradition, and this tour marks 45 years since 'Just Be Good To Me' first hit the charts.

Loose Ends open the night. They were one of the UK's most successful soul acts of the 1980s, and their 1985 hit 'Hanging on a String' made them the first African-British band to top the US Billboard R&B chart, paving the way for artists like Soul II Soul and Gabrielle. Between the two, you've got a good stretch of the 80s soul and funk scene covered in one evening.
The show is in the Main Auditorium at the Royal Concert Hall on Theatre Square, Nottingham, NG1 5ND. It starts at 7:30pm, and tickets range from £28.50 to £57.00.
