The Emmy Award-winning Northern Irish traditional music band brings its tour to the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall.
The Shamrocks are playing the Royal Concert Hall on Friday 30 October, part of their debut UK tour. They're a traditional Irish group from Northern Ireland, and this is their first time bringing the show over here.
They've spent the last few years playing some pretty massive stages and turning them into roaring Irish pubs. The Sydney Opera House's main concert hall, the Fox Theatre in Detroit, and a sold-out run at London's Adelphi Theatre are all on the list. They've built a following along the way, too: more than 100 million video views and 250,000 social media followers, with concerts in over 30 countries. They've also picked up two Emmy Awards.
On stage, they're reimagining the Irish songbook, mixing original songs with the standards. It's not just a trip through the old favourites, then — they're adding their own material into the set. They also talk about the cross-community roots they grew up with in Northern Ireland, something they keep at the centre of the music.
